Try to come up with a main character for your story. Write down a description - male, female, eye color, etc. etc.

Then take this character and imagine then in some odd place or scenario – anything goes! Write down ideas on what would have to happen to your character or how they would react to the scenario you placed them in.

You can do this for multiple characters if you like.

This may seem futile, but it will help you flesh out some characters and give you insight into what you may want to happen to this type of character in a potential story. You may even come up with multiple story lines!

Strong well crafted main characters can inspire readers to love your story as well as drive you to write a great story for these imagined beings so be in! :-)

Well, for the adventure part, it's best to write it about a locale you live in, or at least you have lived in for a good long while, so that the real place can offer consistency to the positions and places, and you don't end up sending someone south on the street to find a place he used to go east. So for setting, your own spaces; spaces you know.

Now, for the adventure part, you will also need events you more-or-less know. The history of the place you know is an obvious choice, since you want a romance type adventure, and history makes that easy. Just take a relatively true story, or elements of several, and make the leading man good-looking. There will be enough females here and there (someone's daughter, someone's servant, someone's wife?) that the romance part will take care of itself. Just get your two main characters somewhere in one another's vicinity, and Mother Nature will write the rest of the story for you.

I believe you want to think about how to write a story. Because almost every adventure romance will have the same idea. But let me state the obvious. The hero is the man or woman and they rescue or save someone who they fall in love with and visa verse. Along the way they have an adventure. But it is more important to know how to write this story. A few techniques are necessary. And a sound strategy will help. Try to write a beginning and an end. Try to start the story where all the action is. For example, Cindy is falling off a big cliff and Tom jumps down using a rope and catches her before she gets in trouble. Try to use characters that you believe or feel you can trust. Let the characters take you through your plot. And always be true to what you believe the story is all about. Lastly, don't look back. Try to write your first draft from beginning to end. Good luck.

1. Who they are.
2. How they meet.
3. A relationship starts.
4. Problems develop.
5. They overcome them.
6. Do a good ending (some of their future together, or their dreams thereof). Everybody skimps on the ending!

Write it in reverse. Figure out the climax then write the opening line.

Then going in reverse, scene by scene go to point A from point Z.

You may find it easier knowing the destination of each chapter when you start off.

You have to use good descriptive words and don't repeat yourself. If the love encounters sound too much the same, it's boring.
