Yes it is but you don't have to put up with it & it is not only 49+ that have that problem. It affects many women at all ages.

Go and see your doctor and you will then be referred to a gynae doctor. You can have a simple repair procedure done under anaesthetic or there are devices that you can buy in the chemist which helps you strengthen the muscles.

Please remember that they have now said do not stop your pee mid stream to strengthen your muscles - it is now said that holding onto your wee can cause infections to start.

Good luck :-)

It can happen at any time really. Mine started after having a catheter at 19! Try KEGAl exersizes. If you don't know how to do them...just practice starting and stopping your urine flow while urinating. Once you get the hang of it, you can do them anytime, anywhere. This stregthns the muscles the control urine flow, and also the vaginal walls. They are easy when you know how....
and they really really work

I don't know, but my guess is yes. Talk to your doctor and don't feel shy, because they deal with a lot worse things.

There also might be exercises you can do to strengthen your bladder.
