I am 5 weeks 4 days and i am showing. I am unable to fit in any of my jeans. I am tierd all the time and am always hungrey . no to mention the morning sickness . My mother father had 2 sets of twins with diffrent wemon

I am currently 17 weeks pregnant with my first . . and I was in a similar situation as you . . . my clothes were already tight at 5 weeks and I was already starting to show . . I've been extremely tired and ALWAYS hungry!! . . but I didn't start with morning sickness until my 2nd trimester . . and even now, it's not that bad . . . twins run in my family, too, so I'm kind of suspecting that I'm having twins . . my doctor kind of hinted at the possibility, but hasn't confirmed anything yet . . I go for my ultrasound this Friday . . . wish me luck and best of luck to you!!!

In early pregnancy the mom's abdomen sweels due to gas and hormones and your uterus enlarged....it's usually not due to baby size at this ealry of a pregnancy. Most woman at one point or the other think they are having twins or a huge baby at this point...but it usually isnt the case. Go get a book called " what to expect when you are expecting" by Heidi Murkoff. It's the pregnancy bible and will help with all these questions. Your question as well as many others that you would not expect is in there. It's excellent in describing all of these little things that worry moms and help distinguish when something is "normal" or not.

Statistically speaking:
Overall, the odds of having fraternal (non-identical) twins are about 3 out of 100.
If you're under 25, you have less of a chance of having twins. If you're over 45, you have more of a chance.
Asians and Hispanics have fewer twins than Caucasians.
If you, your mother or your mother's mother are one of a pair of fraternal twins, the odds go up to 1 out of 17.
The odds of having identical twins are about 1 in 285.
Your doctor can give you more guidance.

There's a good chance it might be twins , with such a frequent occurrence in your family. The fact you're getting bigger may be from the pregnancy, or, because you're eating more and getting less exercise. Better check with your doctor on this one.

very possible. soon you'll have an ultrasound and find out for sure. But I when I was about 5 weeks, I couldn't stop eating also, and ya, stopped fitting in my old clothes. (the craving stopped after 2 months) - but I have only one baby.

its quiet possible an if you did it stznding up then that even more increases your chances of getting preganet with twins but two be sure when you can go see a doctor for a ultra sound......and good luck =)

the chance is there, but you have all the normal signs of being pregent. you could go get a early ultra sound and it will tell you if there is 1 heart beat or 2... congrats and good luck
