i have to debate why i favor the second amendment of the u.s. constitution. what are some key points i need to make? and what are some points the opposing team might bring up that i need to prepare for? thanks for the help.

2nd amendment is the insurance policy for the rest of the constitution. If the army fails, the citizens can still put up a defense against an enemy. if a tyrant siezes control of the govt, the citizens will have a fighting chance to free themselves.

Read the Constitution. Then study the lives and writings of those who wrote and signed the Constitution. Finally, look at statistics which compare the legal vs. the illegal use of guns, especially in those states which have passed "shall issue" concealed weapons laws in recent years.

Without the citizen's right to have guns the government can more easily take over and enforce a tyranny.

All you need to do is ask the Aisies what the taking away of the guns has created. There is no pro or con about it.
