You do not have to be anything at all just get the public to vote you in. It don't matter where you live in any country. If the people are following you you are in control. You are now the leader.

But normally in the USA you only have to be rich and have the rich to be your friends. Be a yes man to the rich helps a lot.

Ronnie Regan was an actor and made it for two terms. Bush is a dunce and has made it two terms. Pretty much only have to be born an American is all with rich friends.

In the old days, besides the residency requirements, honesty, intergrity, working hard for your constiuents, some experience at the local level, and a desire to change things for the better.

Nowadays, who you know in the Party, a loud mouth, a huge special interest group behind you and calling your opponents every dirty name are all that's needed.
