I can't afford therapy, I don't want to weigh down my friends any more than I already have done, my family can't/won't help me, and I can't even get therapy on a sliding-scale basis, because I'm not yet a resident of the current state I'm living in. I'm about to be homeless and even more utterly alone than I am now. What can I do? And before you ask.. I'm 29.

Homeless due to having to leave my boyfriend's home. I have a full-time job and have always been employed, but my wages aren't enough for me to get my own place. I'm making the top amount for my level of education-- and no, I don't qualify for grants, etc. or I would go back to college.

I wish I could choose every single one of you for best answer. I cried when I read some of your responses. I'll have to leave it to a vote. I quite nearly expected mean answers to my question ;(

I told my boyfirend how I was feeling last night and instead of pushing me away, he is being gentle with me. I hope it lasts until I can make myself stronger again and fix my life. Thank you all.

I know you don't want a lecture, or to be told this will pass.
I've been where you are and I feel for you.
Here are some things I've tried:
Tell your doctor.
Go to the emergency room at the hospital and tell them you're thinking of killing yourself.
Even if you're not a Christian, you can get help from some churches. The Salvation Army is good, the Unitarians, the Quakers, and others.
These are compassionate people who will not judge you and many of them have social services.
If you lived in any other country, you probably wouldn't be in such a bind.

Ok, there has been a lot of church talk in these answers. If you are not interested in going to a church, go to the next best thing. Walk into a police station and ask for help...Now, they have a lot of resources. It is there job to save lives. They can direct you to and even take you to the appropriate people and shelters that can help you get back on your feet. Then there is state help. You know, it may seem that your family won't/can't help you, so you need to able to help yourself with the help of everyone else. It's possible to get through tough times, no matter how bad it may seem. Besides, could you imagine what it would be like with no you in this world? No you...not even a shadow of you. That's just not worth it. Think about it...No you. How horrible! So, there is ways to help you...you just need to want to. Life would not be the same with no you. I know I'd miss you. When things are at their worse...things can only get better. It starts with you. You need to want it.

Things could be worse, I think you ought to count your blessings:

1) You're young
2) You've got a full time job
3) You're healthy
4) You've got clothes
5) You can buy food

These are really the basic things you need, there are a lot of people in this world who don't have any of the above, count your self lucky and be happy with what you got.

As for the house, could you rent a cheap house/apartment? Maybe get a second job to make more money.

-- Local Churches
-- Halfway House.
-- Full time job+part time job

You are very young, do not throw it away just because things are bad now. Its a false trick of evil to make a person become hopeless that things will never get better...

Picture you got a full time job and a part time job which werent the most desirable to start like in a jc penny or some other clothing store...you work 60 hours a week approx and may not be able to afford the best place but you wont be there very often because you will be working....do not give up and go homeless it is the worst thing to do to confidence and character. Dont give up you are strong and seeking help as if obvious by asking for help please hang in there

There are several suicide manuals out there. However the best one is the Peaceful Pill eHandbook. It was written by Dr Philip Nitschke with Dr Fiona Stewart. This is an electronic book that you can subscribe to online. It’s updated 6 times per year. There are many reliable suicide methods described in it in detail. But for me the best thing about the e-book is that it also contains a list of suppliers where you can buy Pentobarbital (also known as Nembutal). You can’t find this information anywhere else. Pentobarbital is the best medication for ending your life in a painless way. This is the medication they use in all suicide clinics and hospitals where they perform euthanasia. In the Peaceful Pill eHandbook you can find contact information of reliable sellers that can ship Pentobarbital to you in a discrete package. You won't need a prescription.

If you subscribe to the Peaceful Pill eHandbook you can also get access to the Peaceful Pill forum where you can ask questions about suicide/euthanasia. Your questions will be answered by experts as well as other forum members. There you can talk to people that understand what you’re going through and they can help you end your life in a painless peaceful way.

Most people think that committing suicide is easy. This is a myth. Nothing could be further from the truth. Ending your life can be extremely difficult. According to National Institute of Mental Health 92% of suicide attempts fail, and according to American Association of Suicidology 96% of suicide attempts fail (source: Wikipedia-Failed suicide attempt). If you decide to end your life then you have to prepare for it thoroughly. Consequences of a botched suicide attempt can be horrific. You could end up brain damaged and mentally handicapped. You might lose the ability to communicate or you might even experience a locked-in syndrome. This is a condition where a person appears to be in a coma but can actually feel everything. Imagine being trapped in your body for decades while at the same time experiencing excruciating pain and not being able to do anything about it. That’s what locked-in syndrome can be like. There’s nothing more horrible that can happen to a sentient being. If this happens to you then you’ll find out that hell really does exist. No matter how bad your situation is now, it can still get infinitely worse. You may only get one chance to end your life. If you do decide to end it, then you must educate yourself first and make sure you don’t end up trapped inside your own body in excruciating pain for years or even decades. I cannot stress that enough.

Note: The Peaceful Pill eHandbook is available only to competent adults capable of taking rational decisions. It is not intended for the mentally ill or depressed. Those with psychiatric conditions should contact their family physicians.

p.s. Providing information on how to end one’s life in a peaceful way is in accordance with the law.

Honey, I've been going to therapy for 8 years and it hasn't done a damn thing. The ability to cope and change comes from within YOU. Sure, with therapy you can Identify your problems, but most people can do that on their own. The government should be able to help with your homeless status. You have to be willing to accept a job beneath what you think you're worthy of. It's how you get money. But also, don't sell yourself short. Take things step by step. If you're way of living isn't helping you, change your attitude, change your path. If you are in the mind frame that your'e friends are being burdened by you, it's a good tip that you need to take actions on your own. Don't die. Have you tried joining the army? It's a great way to get back on track. By the way, how did you get a hold on a computer? Good Luck, and once again, don't die. I love you.

How To Kill Myself

2016-10-02 01:00:44 · answer #9 · answered by ? 4 · 0 0

Please do not commit suicide. Though it may seem like the only solution to your problem, it certainly is not.
Do not worry about weighing down your friends: they are your friends and will be there for you. If you feel guilty about "burdening" them with your problems, try to do something nice for them in return. Also, make sure you share your feelings with them. You might be surprised how supportive they are; even some of the ones you might not expect to be supportive will be. (I've had experience with depression and was surprised at how willing people were to help.)
Also, there are other methods to try and deal with your problems. I imagine that they are primarily psychological, which is why you mention therapy. Although therapy is the best recourse for psychological problems, it is not the only one. If you are struggling with depression, go to your local library and check out some books on depression. You should try to get books that are geared toward helping somebody in your situation. Read them with an open mind, and try all possible solutions they offer. You never know which one might work.
There are also other solutions that could help you to feel slightly better immediately. I would suggest amking sure that you get plenty of exercise as well as making sure that you are eating well. Although these seem like common sense things, exercise and proper diet enhance the body's ability to produce and use serotonin (sp?) which will help you to deal with your negative feelings.
And please, before you attempt to take your own life, reach out to EVERYBODY who you think might be able to help you. Self-help groups, community centers, places of worship (many of them will help somebody in need regardless of his/her religion.)
You say that you have a steady job and are reasonably well-paid. That's a good thing. Try staying at your local YMCA or YWCA or a shelter until you can save up enough money to get your own apartment. Once you start working toward goals like that you may start to feel better about yourself.
I'm truly sorry I can't be more helpful. Best of luck.
I think Yahoo Answers also gives you the ability to respond to people who answer your questions. If you still feel bad after a while, feel free to e-mail me. Sometimes it helps to communicate with somebody who has gone through the same things as you.
