I'm a bit low/depressed at the moment.
Has St John's Wort helped anyone? Would you recommend it?

Kava root and Valerian are supposed to be good for depression. never tried it though. Whatever herbs you use, you need to make sure it's from a good company.

I know of a few that have taken it some it has helped some not I think it is one of those that may help some and not others I think it is banned in Ireland so check it out first, I am sorry if this upsets you but do try and think positive and maybe the reason you are low may not be so bad I'm NOT saying pull yourself together cause I know myself what it feels like and it is annoying when that is said take care x oh and a BIG hug they always help x

i took it when i was in college 9 years ago. it definately helped me. although i also decided to work out to try and enhance my mood. it worked. i was almost always happy and on a high. just remember it may interact with other medications. for instance i was on the pill as well and it is stated that st johns wart reduces the effect of the pill if used together. so be careful! but i highly recommend this or samm-e. both work wonders.

I tried a few (3) bottles of it to see if it would help, After 1/2 way through the 3rd bottle I gave up, it made no difference at all for me.

I have but to be honest - it did not make the blind bit of difference to me. Try getting as much natural daylight as possible, avoid alcohol, eat healthy, fresh foods (avoid processed and fast foods), set yourself small acheivable tasks everyday. If you don't feel any better in a few weeks, perhaps you should get yourself checked out. Maybe I should take my own advice!!! Take care x

It can help. Worth a try. Walmart has it at a great price. It has a very high safety profile. Would you please keep me informed of your progress? One of these days I will get to this herb in great deal at my website: www.curedepressionnaturally.com.
I am just starting to work on my site and it will be very helpful to many. I have a lot to write. Soon I will be writing about essential fatty acids. They are very interesting.

I have recently stopped using it, after maybe two years, and I have found it to be completely ineffective.

However, that is me, and you may find it to be useful.

Make sure you are eating well and getting enough sleep, etc.

You could try exercise: that can be effective, as well as healthy.

Unfortunately, it didn't do anything for me. I tried for two and a half months, and nothing. Generally, they say that it takes a while to kick in, but I didn't notice any difference in how I felt.
