My mom's boss is having like a "cook out" at his hotel for all of the national guard that give him their business.....I'm going (because I work their also, sometimes) and don't know what to talk about because I'm a pretty shy person....so what should I talk about? Or should I just let it come to me?

Du Hast bist Falsche! Let me tell you about being a regular Soldier. I got nine years in the Active Army. I've been deploy to Bosnia in '93 and to this current war as a M1Tanker. I've done four years Reserve time. I got out to start my family and finish my school. But I will tell you that I am as real as they come and I am now in the Texas National Guard. BTW I'm finishing up a English Degree to teach.

National guardsmen aren't really Soldiers, its kinda like rent-a-cops... So you're pretty much safe to talk about anything that isn't intellectual.
