Atoms are the smallest units which retain the properties of an element. Atoms are made of parts (electrons, protons & neutrons) which are identical - it does not not matter what atom they are a part of, they are the same.

Molecules are made of one or more (usually more) atoms of the same or of different elements. Molecules are what everything material is made of, living & nonliving.

Compounds are materials that exist in set combinations, of more than one element , such as H2O. Water is always H2O - 2 hydrogen atoms & 1 oxygen atom. Water is both a compound and a molecule.

Molecule are bonded atoms or single atoms of elements or compunds. The atom can and has been broken down further. Google quantum physics. I the DNA. compunds are differnet atoms bonded to form a molecule
