House music was created by blacks in the hood of Chicago, why arn't more blacks outside of Chicago in to it?

I didn't know that people outside of the year 1990 were into house music. I haven't heard house music since high school, back in the 90's. But it's also cultural. Every city and/or area has its own type of music that they like.
