To a first approximation, the earth's orbit is circular, and the part of the velocity which changes is the angle, not the magnitude. In a month, the earth will have gone 30 degrees around the circle, and you can do some trigonometry to calculate the actual momentum changes. Suppose that at t=0, the earth is on the X-axis, and the sun (or more precisely, the barycenter of the sun-earth system) is at the origin. The earth's momentum is in the +Y direction. A month later, it will have acquired an X-axis component of (1 - cos 30), and the Y-axis component will have reduced by (sin 30) (cos 30). You can check this by applying Pythagoras: the sum of squares should equal 1. But the root of the sum of squares of the momentum change components is in fact the total momentum change. And there you are!

Notice she asked for how to get it, obviously she tried the steps you mentioned already.

Find circumference of earth; 2(pi)r = circumference, which also equals the distance travelled in 1 day. 300 million pi km.

TO find distance over period of month, which equates avg velocity in a month is

300 million pi / day = X km / 30 days. X = 9,000,000,000 (pi) km.

THus, avg velocity is 9,000,000,000 pi km per month.

However, the word velocity implies direction..since the earth is round, it is constantly in changing direction so this is more Avg speed then avg velocity.

I am not sure if that is what you want.

For average acceleration , divide 9,000,000,000 by T squared instead of just T. THus, it is still 9,000,000,000 (pi) km/monthsquared.

I think this answer makes sense because as I mentioned, the path is circular so you need constant force to move the earth in a new direction. By new direction i mean take the tangent of the earth. But idk, get others to check if i am correct, i am only 80% sure.
