How do you turn on and off the wireless on a laptop without admin rights?

If the laptop is made by Dell, Gateway, HP, Compaq, or any of the big name brands, there should be a function button (labeled "Fn" on my Gateway) and then a picture of a radio tower, a dot giving off waves, or something similar on the F keys. Gateways, it's F2.

many of the on/off buttons are on the front of the laptop (front right for compaqs and dells)

there is usualy a button on the side with blinking lights
