I am preparing for my driving test. What books would you recommend to buy or borrow to help me pass my test?

The only thing that can help is by practicing a lot with what they will test you on. Once you've got the laws memorized, that's it!

Books won't help nearly as much as simply learning the Rules of the Road from either the pamphlet the Dept of Transportation will provide or observing another driver. The key to the test itself is to go to the driver's license facility on a day they are closed and practice on their course with the car you will use for the test.

Normally the best book to get it the book handed out by your local Department of Motor Vehicles.

go to the local dmv and get the booklet for free. studied it and then take the test.
and for the driving part, get someone to lend you borrow the car. partice makes prefect. i know that on the test they ask you to parallel park,do the 3-pointer, on a stop sign, stop right before the stop sign, then slowly take your brake leg off a llittle bit and then stop right with the stop sign. tricky one, but most people fail.
