Bases, or alkaline materials, all have pH values *greater* than 7 in aqueous solution.

Are we talking about the infield bases or homeplate? First base would have the highest ph. All that traffic with muddy cleats. The higher the ph the higher the alkalinity. The stuff you clean drains with has a high ph and of course is a base. Acid as everyone else has said as a ph below 7. The lower the ph the more acidic the substance is. Extremely low or high ph is corrosive. Baseball bases are much safer. You don't want to slide into a pool of Drano.

Bases are compounds that break up into hydroxide (OH-) ions and another compound when placed in an aqueous solution.
That pH scale is actually a measure of the number of H+ ions in a solution. If there are a lot of H+ ions, the pH is very low. If there are a lot of OH- ions, that means the number of H+ ions is very low, so the pH is high. Acids are found between a number very close to 0 and 7. Bases are from 7 to 14. Most of the liquids you find every day have a pH near 7. Bases with pH values near 14 include drain cleaner and sodium hydroxide (NaOH). Those chemicals are very dangerous.

Water, which is neutral, has a ph of 7. Anything above 7 is a base, the higher the ph, the stronger the base.

High pH. Bases in aqueous solutions are pH 7+ to 14, if I remember correctly, which I probably don't.

pH lower than 7 is an acid solution.

High of course, a solution is called a base when its pH value exceeds 7. And acids are below 7.

pH is a measure of (essentially) how many Hydrogen ions there are in solution. However, the 'p' stands for -log10 - so, the higher the number of Hydrogen Ions, the lower the pH value and visa versa/ e.g. - if the concentration was 3x10^-3 the pH would be 2.5 3x10^-4 (ten times less concentrated) would have a pH of 3.5 3x10^-5 (yet again, 10x less concentrated than the last one) would have a pH of 4.5

Bases: pH from 7.1 to 14

Categorically speaking, bases have a high pH in comparison to acids and pure water.

My answer was wrong. Sorry, ph high is a base, ph low is acid.
