I have three to four days off a week, and I just don't know what to do with my time off. Usually I am home alone with nothing to do - all my friends are working the opposite shift as me. I have an excellent job and great pay. So what can I do without going insane with silence?

You should go to the movies and stay ALL day! Or you could read a book. Or catch up on your sleep.

You aren't a postal worker, are you?

No just kidding. I'm the postal worker and I feel your pain. It's worse when your scheduled days off are in the middle of the week.

Here's what you do and what I should do. First, go through your to do list and make sure all your chores are done. No don't turn on the TV. There is nothing on and prime time is for normal people. If you want to keep making the big bucks, then it is time to go to school. Be careful with your time. You have to figure for each hour you are in the class room you need one to four hours outside of the class room. That ought to take care of all of your free time AND give you a little bit of socializing with others beyond work associates and four walls

Awesome question.

1. go see a movie
2. get a nice car and go drag racing
3. get an XBOX360 and become addicted to Oblivion (the game)
4. go to a little college on the side and learn how to speak a language of a foriegn country you always wanted to visit, but never could because you dont know the lingo.
5. take up painting, or writing, or something else you found you enjoyed when you were younger.
6. look at your favorite pastimes. what did you like doing when you were still in school, but never had time for? what would it take for you to take up something like that again?
7. in all the activities, that take you outside of your home, and into public, make new friends! just because all the friends you know now are busy, doesnt mean there arent more people out there who you could have a good time with.

If you have kids, how about volunteering in their classroom one day a week.

Take a day and watch movies that no one else in the house would want to see.

See if there are any classes at the community college that you would have an interest in. Mybe a class on photography, or a cooking class....
