Which Major League Baseball team west of the Mississippi River is the most popular baseball team in MLB?

Has to be the LA Dodgers......they still have a small fan base in NY and are popular on the road. The Giants might be second or perhaps the A's.

Technically the St. Louis Cardinals being that they play on the western banks of the Mississipi. During the days before expansion and before the Dodgers, Giants, Athletics, Twins, Rangers (both of these teams were the Washington Senators, how are history buffs going to figure that one out a couple hundred years from now) moved west the Cardinals were the team to root for anyone in the great plains and the Rockie mountain states. (The West Coast had the Pacific Coast league) They still have a large following throughout that area today.

Real baseball is played on the east side of the Mississippi! But the Dodgers are probably the most popular team in the west.

Are you kiddin' me?? It's the Cardinals without a doubt. They were the first team ever west of the Mississippi, and they have a huge fan base all over the west for that very reason.

I'd have to say the Dodgers; they have a huge market in California and surrounding areas, plus, even though they moved long ago, there's gotta be a 'residual effect' from when they played in New York.
