Weird question. Weird choice of words.
The answer depends on who's doing the playing. Children? or Adults? Reality, truth and fiction are all very ambiguous.
Child's play is something someone is doing which is very easy. I'm not sure what you are asking with the reality question.

OMG I HATE that movie, I watched it when I was 8 and it gave me nightmares for 3 months! I doubt there is any reality in it unless you know magic...but my friend had the actual doll and threw it out freaked it would come to life.

The movie? Well it's not based on a true story. It's actually based on an old horror movie where a dummy kills people. As to if there's any truth to such rituals, I'm not superstitious and have never seen any proof of voodoo stuff actually working.

Yes: that is how a child learns and responses to things, because in their developing minds they do not know better until us mature adjusted adults help, and guide them, and play makes it more entertaining to them

Yes children do play with dolls.
The scariest thing about that movie was that chucky was so small he could be hidden anywhere.

Well, you can tell a lot of things about the kid by observing what he plays, how, with whom, how he interacts with others... does this answer partly your question?

That movie with "Chuckie"? It was fiction. And the bullets they shoot on TV aren't real either.
