Sassi - trust me I know, I live in Houston and my apatment complex is "flooded" with them, they are loud, stay up all hours of the nights partying and crap, have 10 people in one apartment, and leave trash and crap all over the complex.

It's been over a year since Katrina hit and it is time for those who've lived off other Americans for a year to get a job and stop standing around waiting for more handouts. Houston, Texas took in hundreds of evacuees and what happened? The crime rate in Houston rose 27% this year. When it was announced that free housing would end when the one year anniversary passed, the evacuees wanted more time, more handouts, a free ride home. If my home was ruined, you can bet I'd be the one putting it back together, not other people while I got a free ride for a year. There are some people who, no matter how much is done for them, want more, more, more while they do less, less, less to help themselves. Katrina taught America a big lesson. Next time there's a destructive hurricane, I'm guessing things will be done differently!

I'm not sure that I agree with you. I was there for a few months trying to help people get their claims filed. You have to realize that a lot of the businesses and companies are still closed, some of the people you see, were hard working people before Katrina and are looking for work to help rebuild their homes. There is a lot of fraud going on, I agree, but if we stop helping all the people, then some Innocent victims will suffer.

YES, I agree with you 100%.... Did you know also, that the people in Texas want those evacuees out of their town/State, because since they have been there their crime rate has risen??

They should be forced to get jobs, and see what its like in the real world!!

Probably. I doubt they know any better. Sounds crazy, but if you are raised to expect handouts, and wait in line, then you don't know any better. Judging by how most people settle for what the government hands them (either a load of BS, or a check) it doesn't surprise me. And it isn't limited to poor people, it goes for ALL sheep!

ANd SASSI? You will never know THEIR real world, god willing....that's the funniest thing I've read all day. Sorry, I know you are probably just young...

I agree totally. The last few years (since Clinton's terms) the environment has become so ridiculously politically correct that it is notvery acceptable to speak what many know to be the truth.

Is it a cultutral thing? (Is that also politically incorrrect?)

I know that they didn't attend any of the job fairs that were set up expressly for them. They were even provided transportation and no one went.
