What does adams apple signify ? I have a large adams apple , does it have anything to do with thyroid ? I am depressed sometimes , wud the adams apple have anything to do with this ?

The Adam's Apple is properly known as the Thyroid Cartilage. It's prominent in men because it is part of the larynx (voice box) that grows at puberty. It ha nothing to do with the thyroid gland except for proximity, The gland lies between the larynx and the skin.

The Adam's Apple is cartilage, and does not have any affect on the way the thyroid works; nor is it indicated in depression.

I'm not exactly sure what it all means but the terminology was derived from The biblical sense of Adam eating the forbidden Apple and it being visibly stuck in his throat for a time.

Its simply a cartilagenous structure of your voice box, nothing to do with thyroid at all.
I think u should introspect to find root cause of ur depression

the adams apple protects the thyroid gland. i am not sure whether or not it affect how the thyroid works.
