i need to find out were i can get door seals for my mk4 1988 f reg escort cabriolet please could you help?

door seal for passenger door and drivers door for the escort cabriolet 1.6 f reg i can't find any sites that sell them and i have just had my car resprayed and the seals i have are knackard and spoiling the car completely thankyou for your help

I would try to source the seals from a 3-door hatchback Escort (or early 3-door estate) of the same era (1980 to 1990), and trim them to fit the frameless doors of the cabriolet. The profile of the seals are likely to be the same for all versions of Escort, just different lengths were used for the different versions.

You might even be able to use the seals from a 5-door, a van or an Orion.

There must be a scrapyard somewhere near you with at least one Escort/Orion of that era.

If you want brand-new ones, they are probably sold in lengths that you cut to fit, rather than specific lengths for the cabrio. Check a local motor factors shop, such as Partco. You're more likely to find them by talking to a good parts man than by searching the web.
