Spiders eat insects, which keeps the insect population down. Spiders also had another use: they saved the Prophet Muhammed's (may peace be upon him) life. He was running away from idolist fighters (who were anti-Muslim), and found two caves. He ran into one of them, and as soon as he went in, a bunch of random spiders wove a web, making it look like he couldn't have possibly entered this cave without destroying the web. So the idolists came and checked the other cave, couldn't find him, and went off. Thank Allah for that!
As for beetles, I don't know to be honest, sorry.
A better question, though, would be 'What is the use of mosquitoes on earth?'

Hi, I think spiders are useful because they take care of flies and conrol their numbers, beetles may be something to do with the food chain, or collecting dung? I have no idea, all I know is that I hate them! Spiders scare me to death and I don't understand why they want to be in my flat all the time! I heard the only animals that don't benefit the world are rats, don't know if it's true, but I don't like them either! Have a nice day! X

well, the beatles principally had lennon and mccartney who sang, played and wrote their own compositions, and ziggy stardust jammed good with will n gilley, who i believe were joined by the spiders from mars.
the fellows who crawl around the garden etc are beetles, not beatles. as for spiders, i believe they catch flies and bring you good luck providing you don't kill them.
personally, av arlways wondered what use are hornets and wasps, aswell as beetles, the insect variety. the beatles, human variety, helped put britpop on the world map and the spiders from mars had to be disbanded for some reason i think is explained in the song ziggy stardust from the same titled album by david bowie, who i think is great, as too were the beatles.
i hope this helps.
peace

the beatles made great music. beetles have many functions in an ecosystem. for starters, they are food for a huge number of birds, and mammals like hedgehogs, shrews and moles. with their breeding habits they also help to loosen up the soil and keep it fertile, and finally a lot of them eat parasites that would otherwise damage plants, for instance ladybirds eat greenfly. the function of spiders is to keep the insect population under control, they eat their way through a load of very annoying critters.

I think you mean "beetles". The "Beatles" were the singing group.
And yes, of course, they do good. They are in Nature's food chain. They are predators and prey of other animals, reptiles, etc.
