I think of infinity in both directions. Most people think of the expanding universe....never ending...with no limit.
But lets not forget the other direction, ie, looking at smaller and smaller objects, we're down to quarks now aren't we, sub-atomic material? But what of smaller and smaller objects we cant see yet...is that never ending too?
Sometimes i think our universe is a molecule on the ring finger of some big giant....its mind boggling.

Well, it could be that you know that as humans-and all animals are concerned, that death is going to happen, so it IS very hard to think about eternity in heaven. However, in death, we are reborn-our spirit, our life force begins again but not as human flesh with our lives depending upon bodily functions-breathing-heart beating....
Infinite only means that there is no end. You can't determine an end because there is none. I started reading a book about Kabalah (may not be spelling it correctly) -it's really quite interesting. I don't the mean the Kabalah that a lot of entertainers are into. The original religion. Of course, I have had to reread the chapters quite often. You might find it interesting even if you don't want to practice it. You can find books on it in your local library. I haven't decided to practice it-
Yes, mind boggling for sure.

I always think of infinite as a sort of hypothetical that could exist only outside of time. If something is infinite, then by definition it doesn't change. This means that it can't be in the constantly changing realm of time. It's like a stopped watch.
When I think about living in heaven for eternity, I think of it as a static existence, that does not include the passage of time. Just a sort of 'stop' point. It would be terribly boring except that it would take time to allow us to be conscious of it.

Yeah I get that feeling too. I also get the smae feeling that in all the planets out in the world, somewhere(maybe on the other side of the unioverse) is another planet with life. and maybe they don't know about us, an dmaybe they learn their histroy and discuss the fact that there might be life on other planets out there. that freaks me.
But infinite? Well I sorta still a small description from seventh heaven
Imagine a gold ball the size of the earth. imagine a bird comes by once every million years, and sweeps a millimeter of th eball away. when the ball is finally nothing, that is only the beginning of infinity.

I think the reason it is so hard to understand is because we live day to day, minute to minute and time is measured by seconds, minutes, hours, days, months and years but the way I see it, when we leave this earth then time has no measure or meaning. As souls we will be working to be better and better until we can be one with God. We will not even think of "time" as we know it here, but keep growing, evolving, learning and aspiring to be as close to perfect as we can be. I know that as humans we know that we will never be perfect but we will have an eternity to try.
I hope I have been of some help to you darling, God bless you

Good questions
Infinite - without an end, indestructable is how I see it.
I think the word is beyond our conditioned mind way of thinking.
The human body is finite, when we die it rots away, conversely, the spirit is infinite, it is indestructable and lasts forever. It has been here all the time there wasn't a beginning or an end.

Infinity is boundless. Unfortunately our language has limitations and that shapes our lack of ability to communicate about anything that is boundless or infinite. We can barely imagine the concept even when given word pictures that attempt to help us grasp it just a little. If you can grok infinity then you should be able to touch the mind of G-d.

It is difficult for us to understand infinite because everything we know and love has a beginning and an end.
In this mortal body nothing is forever.
Infinite means, never ending, forever, never ceasing and so forth.
At least in my mind it does.

To me, infinite means something that has no end. The fact that God will always be is easier for me to comprehend than the fact that He has always existed. He had no beginning. That's what I have a hard time comprehending.

That which is finite has limits. Life begins at birth and ends at death. We don't like that idea, since it suggests that our wonderful selves will go out like a candle. We then invent the idea of the "infinite,' and participate in it so that we can assuage our bruised egos.
