I am not a woman, but I can assure you that there is nothing to worry about.

The material released durring your period is the lining of your uterus. In order to release it, the uterus first separates the lining and then pushes it out. This blood rich tissue then has no life-line to the rest of your body and begins to break down and die as soon as it is separated from your uterus.

Not to be overly gross, but the smell is of rotting blood and tissue. There really isn't much that you can do as far as preventing the smell.

Ok, I'm not really sure what you mean by "I've never had sex but while I'm on my cycle". That sounds like you mean you have sex during your period. But....whatever that means, if you are now menstrating, and you have a foul odor, I would not worry too much...periods by nature do not smell that great. I take excellent care of myself also, but during that time it can be a little smelly.

usually nothing.
I think most women experience a "foul" odor while on their periods. It's just the combination of fluids mixed together and when they hit the oxygen in the air it causes an odor. Especially if you really active, like exercising. I have found that Vagisil powder sprinkled on the pad, or in underwear if wearing a tampon, helps a lot with this issue.
If it truly concerns you talk to your ob/gyn.

This foul order is completly normal.. it's your bodies way of naturally cleaning itself out before, during, and after your period.. just be careful not to use douches or any other kind of deoderizer because they may cause yeast infections.. but as long as you don't have any lumpy white stuff coming out then you're fine.. you have normal odor that every woman in the world has.. don't feel gross.. it's just part of it.. did you know guys have an odor too?.. it's just the way God made us...

There is a certain odor of blood that you will notice at that time. You are probably more aware of it than others, but just to be on the safe side, change your pad or tampon often and if you use the tampon, put a panty liner on also for a little extra protection. If you only notice this on your period, then it is normal.

Each woman gives off their unique own odor - this does not mean that you are dirty or have an STD. As long as there is no other side effects, like a discharge after your menses, you shouldn't worry, an odor is normal during this time.

from what i experienced periods don't smell good anyways. if there isn't any discharge when you are off and/or problems with too much pain...i would say that you are alright. that's why they invented powders for cover up. usually when you wear tampons you don't have to worry about odor....if you don't feel comfortable about the stench then check with the gyne.

It means that periods sometimes have a foul odor.

If you're using tampons, try changing them sooner. It could make a difference. If you use towels, you could (obviously) try the same thing.

An iron-like smell is generally just the smell of blood, and is nothing to worry about! :)

Well, it's normal...think about it...there's a lot of blood and junk leaving your body...it's not gonna smell too pleasant! But if you are worried, then ask a family member, or see a doctor!
