The streets in DC are horrible....why?

1. Commuters from Metro Area who don't pay commuter taxes.
2. Development - Office Buildings, Condos, Townhouses & New
Retail, i.e., heavy machinery, trucks, cranes.
3. Using contracted companies to maintain streets.
The streets weren't even this bad when we didn't have all the necessary tools for repair. Before the City's Checks were Good!

For the same reason this whole country is messed up.
The politicians dwell there.
They would have to come up with a bill that would allow the city to put together a street cleaning crew.
Everything they do, requires years worth of paper work and debate. The money that would be alloted to a new city government program would dip into the pockets of the politicians.
They don't want a pay cut. They get to go home in their own city where the streets are clean.
They just go there to work, supposedly. The city government is hand tied to do anything. All of the city funds goes directly to capitol hill and the white house.
Sad, isn't it?

Because the majority of residents there are minorities and the Government is not concerned with the neighborhoods occupied by minorities....even a stones throw from the White House.

Most of the influential are careless as well as the minority to their situation, as the cross section are concerned with tv land, reality garbage, jerry Springer, Tom Cruise's baby and Katie's career!
