One of my guppies was on the bottom of the tank this morning, very much alive, but seemingly unable to swim. I came home on my lunch break and he is still on the bottom and keeps thrusting in to the water, only to sink again.
he doesn't seem bloated at all and his fins don't appear damaged (although it's hard to tell with him sitting on the bottom)
He is about a year old, so it may be he is just old, but i've never seen this before, and he is very energetic and healthy looking, only he can't swim.

The amonia and nitrate as well as ph and temp are normal.
there is 5 good size guppies all together in a peaceful community tank.
It's a 55 gallon and not overstocked at all
I've had him for a year and so i can't ask at the store i got him. everyone else seems healthy.
i thought it might be swim bladder, but it seems bizarre he is sinking, not swimming upside down

The water quailty and cleanliness of the tank is good and none of my other fish seem affected.
