I've done this many times at work with a infared cameras and a dry erase board. The infared camera will pick up on the heat signature from your body on the mirror as long as the mirror is not as hot as you.

Mirrors reflect electromagnetic waves, so when infra-red light hits the shiny surface of the mirror, it will be reflected. It can however only be detected if your eyes can see them, which you can when your night vision goggles are on.

if there is absolutely no light, which is a practically impossible scenario to make, night vision goggles, unless they are transmitting infra-red light, do not work.
