How do you "know". Truly you don't. Time will tell. But I suggest that you take some time to write down all of the things that you simply must have in someone that you would be willing to marrry: i.e. is he responsible, does he talk the talk then walk the wark; is he fun; does he have the same viewpoint about religion that I do; is he frugal; can he save money; is he honest; is he independent; does he allow me to have my independence....
This list will vary from person to person so you should make the list according to what is important to you. Try not to think about your boyfriend as you write this list. Then, compare him to what is important to you. Nobody is perfect but it will give you a good idea of how well suited you are for each other.
Good luck.

How does he compare with other important men in your life or your other men friends?
Does he respect you, show you kindness and consideration, is truthful but tactful about your drawbacks (we all have them!) and celebrates what he loves about you?
More importantly, do you both communicate well and is there a lot of (consistent) give and take?
Would you rather see other men, or any man, at this time? Be honest with yourself!
If you really want to know the 'real deal', try Dr. Robin's compatibility quiz (200 questions , I think!) featured on Oprah. She's the expert.
I only know what I know.

In my experience, if you have to ask, then he's not the real deal. When you really fall in love, there is no doubt, no thinking that maybe there is someone else out there who might be better, you are SURE.
Dating one man does not give you enough to compare your feelings with. I don't know how old you are but I would not recommend committing to this man until you are older and more sure of your feelings.

This is the first guy you've ever dated, of course you would feel he's the one, you have nothing to compare him with. I'm not saying to drop him and play the field to see, but I don't know many couples that got married without finding out if this truly is the "one".

Date another so you can compare.
There is no absolute real deal in relations. Commitment is a choice. If you choose to be together, then stick to it and in 50 years from now, this guy was the right guy. If you don't feel comfortable with him or feel doubts, look for another one. Sorry.

Well, it depends on how well you know him & things like that. You could ask his family members how they think of him, and his friends too. If they think that he is a good guy, then the chances are increesed that he is.
However don't go on word alone. Action is one thing that you can never argue with. If his actions are to try & please you & make you feel happy, I wouldn't worry about it to much.
However if you think he might be fooling you, drop the attachment for now. Let him slowly gain your trust through his actions. If you don't want to do that. You can leave & let things lie.
Have a good day.

There was a song many years ago, a few words of the song when like this:" Take time to know him/her love is not an overnight thing." Take your time 11 1/2 is not a long time to know someone. Especially, if you are considering spending the rest of your life with them.

Is he a Godly man? Does he live up to God's and your personal standards? If so, then he probably is. If not, you will eventually become unhappy.
If you are still not sure, continue to date him. Don't move in with him. He will settle for that and possibly never marry you.

Think about how you've always imagined you and your future hubby. Did you always dream of the prince charming type of romantic? A man that protects you? Someone who always makes you laugh. If he is all the things you always dreamed of, he's the one. You don't ever have to settle for anything less than your dream man. He is out there, and I hope you've already got him! Good luck!

If you have been with him for 11 months, then you must see some good things in him. Just keep getting to know him and you'll know over time.
