This will be the first time I've changed brakes on this truck and no I haven't even taken the tire off to look at the brakes. Is there anything I should know before tackling this job?

It depends on how much mechanical skill you have... but it isnt too tough to do. Go to http://www.fordf150.net/howto/brakerepair.php and you can get a full walk-through of the brake repair process.

Not really, no different than the others. 4 wheel disc with emergency brake drum under the rear rotors. Not hard at all. Good luck.

brakes ain't hard to change... Rotor on the other hand is weird...

if 4x4 they come off the hub real easy and look like ones off a front wheel drive car.... if they are 4x2 , you have to take the real big nut off (30mm I think is the size) to get it off and you have to replace the nut when you reinstall and retighten to over 200 foot pounds...

the rotor won't come off any other way as it uses a sealed front bearing on a 4x2 that's pressed fit into the rotor.. so if you want to get it turned, look at some extra money
