Something like this just happened to me yesterday at work.
A man came running into our shop and told me to call 911 because a white guy just got jumped by 5 or 6 black guys.
I called and gave them the details they needed. About 15 minutes later, no cops, ambulance, etc had arrived yet.
So I called 911 once again and explained I had put in a call earlier and there hadn't been a response to the call and we still needed help.
There was a black woman checking out at the counter. She looked at me (Yes, I'm white...AND PROUD OF IT, thank you) and said "Tell them the guy who got jumped is white, they'll come to the emergency faster".
I GLARED at her and said "Oh, ok, so the black cops don't give a s*** about their own race??? Get a grip..."
I was f****** pissed. THIS IS THE REASON THERE IS STILL RACISM in this world....

I say ****gger all the time around blacks and nobody stops me. I call the blacks that deserve my respect sir and ma'am. They might threaten to kick my as$ but they lose. How has slavery affected the blacks of the year 2006?
It hasn't.
As a shopkeeper I would keep an extra eye on them, they cause most of the trouble. It only makes sense and doesn't make it wrong. If statistics show green people are more likely to commit crimes than purple people, I am paying extra attention to the green people. Is that racist? No. It's smart, I'm also watching those purple people too but maybe not as much. Don't be intimidated just be knowledgeable white and strong...they kill themselves anyway, it's like a self cleaning oven really. It has been 136 years since slavery was abolished and they still can't get their stuff together. It used to be whites were holding them down, now they do it everyday with their own actions.

I think you're right mate. I'm a white man married to a black woman and she is really irritated when some black people blame any hiccup in their lives upon something that happened 150 years ago. There have been many forms of slavery practised by all races (Romans, Greeks, Arabs inter alia) but you don't hear their victims excusing their own failings by blaming everyone else for their problems. No-one should racially slur anyone. Shave off the skin and we're all the same underneath, and we all have to share this planet. We only get 75 years or so each of life, so we should try not to spend them squabbling over trivialities. Red blue and orange Smarties all look different. But they are still smarties, and they still taste the same. (That's if they sell them where you are, of course!!)

That's because you and everyone else in both sides of the spectrum are caught up in the game. This was designed to keep people apart. Don't believe me?
Look at rap music as ONE example out of MANY.
All of the managers, agents, and owners of the labels are white. Even Puff Daddy who started BAD BOY records was operated by BMG when it first started.
Gangster this. Ganster that. Money. Girls. Killing. I'm the bad-*ss of the bunch.
And the one's who generate the sales are white people loving to hear black people say n*gg*r, because it's sold to them as "being real".
There's nothing real about putting yourself down and others.
It's all about the money. Racism has become more siniter and it only benefits the people who control the market for it (and not just in the music industry).
The thing you have to do is to get deeper to the origins of the problem and not generalize and Characterize that all Black People are like that.
There are many who are against this kind of behavior and that the few don't reflect the whole.
You can do the apple and oranges of racism all you want. The fact remains that just as much as their are racist who justify why they do and what they do as there are many who are against racism. But the real issue is that you must do your homework and investigate a subject matter that's difficult on both sides to deal and talk about.
The problem started somewhere and it's up to you to learn, understand, and define why it started and who it really benefits from it. Don't be afraid to learn on both ends where they screwed up.
Good luck.

Yes i agree that the AA are very sensitive to certain things. and it's also true in some cases. Let's not take it too far. it is what it is. But the fact is they were slaves and they cannot forget it. You would do the same I am sure if you were so sensitive. it's individualism i think.
I am married to an indian girl (from India) and she finds it very hard to be friendly with white american women and She is a very nice person. but they jump to conclusions, just because she is hot looking and dresses nice they probebly think she's stuck up and they give dirty looks when we are together..same way! I have even heard woman say that to me after they got to know her.....I think it's either a white thing or a black thing.

Some black folks(and even I am guilty of this), tend to take the weight of their parents and grandparents history on their shoulders. I have never been through slavery. Lord knows I would not have survived, but I think if blacks see more equality we can stop hollering "Racism!" Every chance we get. I personally do not do this. I do not use the "n" word, and I do not racially slur whites because on both grounds it is wrong. Blacks, we hold anger sometimes at things we do not understand. Some white people go through this too, a period of not understanding. But for some reason, us blacks have this huge chip on our shoulders. If you aren't racist, good. But if you hold some sort of prejudices against other people, you must work on that because we are in this world together, and its time we start loving one another. For real.

Well I happen to be black and I feel that blacks shouldn't always use their race as a factor BUT in some instances, they are justified to use it. Example: Police had a road block looking for suspects of a robbery, my boyfirend was pulled over and a white male was allowed to pass without even being stopped. Now whose's to say that a white person couldn't have committed the crime??? In order to understand how "black Americans" feel, you'll have to place yourself in their shoes. Blacks have a bad name since slavery and those that tried to give us good names were slandered by some whites, or killed. Yeah there are ignorant black people as there are whites. Racism is old but it will always play a factor in society.
I don't use slavery as an excuse because I nor my parents or grandparents were slaves. I can't relate to that but what I can say is that they suffered a lot. It's not fair BUT you have to see how we struggle in society, and I mean yeah other races face discrimination but blacks are more factored in this category.
I know you don't mean any disrespect but you have to live the life of a black person to understand.

If you are white and someone calls you a name, it's just name calling. Who even cares.
Historically, use of the word "n*gger" is an exercise of power over black people. When you say that to a black person you are drawing upon hundreds of years of subjugation and using it as a weapon. "N*gger" is not a racial slur: it's an attack, an attempt to remind black people of their place in your society. On a fundamental level, it's terrorism because it evokes fear.
Also, the term "reverse racism" implies that you believe racism towards black people is normal and balanced. And, also ridiculous because it indicates that the user (I know you are only repeating what you heard, but that doesn't excuse you from ignorance) has no concept of history, or knowledge of the simple definition of racism.

this is how those people get by in life.
funny thing is they expect favors just because they are black.
I was at a gas station and this dumb black dude bought a coke. his total was $1.08 and he had a five dollar bill. since he didn't have $.08 he wanted the chasier to let him "slide" and give all bills. the chasier said if you were short I would let you go but you have enough. then the black idiot got offended and start doing his ghetto performance and said,"damn all this for $.08? this is straight up nonsense! you can't even cover the $.08? yall some stingy white people!"
go figure.
