it all depends on the best developed sense of the person.Often visual works more effectively than audio.

Some people are more left brained(logical audio) and some people are more right brained (creative visual). But on avg, I would look at the size each part of the brain reponsible for each. For example, our sense of smell takes up only a relatively small part of the brain compared to visual.

It all depends on the person. Some are more visual and will therefore remember more if they read it or see it. Others are more auditory, so they will remember simply by hearing it.

I'm going to say visual..
I've always said, though, if I were to encounter something paranormal, would I be less frightened by the sight or the sound of a ghost?
I think I"d be more frightened of the sound...
