It has been well documented that when it comes to voting for military funding- liberals would much rather spend money on social programs. First you must understand their rational. Approximately 10% of the population in the United States is poor, which is about 30 million Americans. There are approximately one million Americans serving in the military. If only 1 in 5 of the poor vote, that equals about six million votes as compared to one million votes from the military. There are two relevant questions here. What percent of the poor vote Republican? How close was the 2000 Presidential Election? This leads directly to the answer of why would liberals rather appropriate money to social programs than to the defense of our country. Please note, the defense of our country is a primary, if not the primary responsibility of our government. If we don't protect the country, we may not have a country or our freedom.

if you think by becoming a leader in the world through diplomacy and education and sharing information for the benefit of humanity then I guess you would think them weak however the mind is the most powerful weapon against tyranny see it is historically pr oven that war only breeds contempt for the victor if it has sacrificed its moral ground to accomplish a victory and congress knows this and is why your seeing a separation of support for Bush's stay the course mentality for he has to give up our moral platform in order to achieve a victory in a battle not the war so the question will arise again what other compromises will we have to endure in order for our government to gain a victory .
i believe that their will never be a time were the world will be free of terrorist due to the fact that were all not on the same page when it comes with how we deal with it and until we do its just another way to siphon off the cream in the American economy for the few in power.

Liberals prefer diplomatic solutions to problems first, not the other way around, like Bush.

Liberals are very strong on defense and very concerned with protecting our citizens.

Many of us dont look at the world in a way that would require such fearful and neurotic ways of "protecting" ourselves. Some of us think the best way to protect ourselves is through respectfully belonging to a global community rather than building and using arsenals against the weaker masses.
