Everyone is correct. Efax it is. Note that you can get free number assigned to you or pay to get a number with desired area code. Also note that you'll need to download a special viewer for reading the incoming faxes. Finally, beware of spam. I've noticed that every time I receive a fax in my email, the next day I get an advertisement from efax.

Efax will send faxes to you as a PDF file and you even get a local number.
