Robert S makes sense out of nonsense. It is about time that you liberals and we conservatives stop all this BS and join together to make the changes that will make our country stronger and stop the petty bantering.

The Democrats have no control over those issues since they are not in charge of the House, Senate or Presidency. That was rather obvious.

If you have a problem with outsourcing take that up with the companies who have done that. All you would have to do is call up ol' GW and ask for his friends phone numbers!

True the Republicans control the Congress and hold the White House... BUT... there is NOTHING stopping the Democratic Party Representatives from presenting a reasonable plan that would be acceptable to the voters... and then gaining the FEW necessary Rep. votes for a majority.

I think ONE of the things we NEED to do (both parties)...is attack the issues ONE at a TIME...

It would be VERY hard to deny that the southern border needs a fence (physical and virtual) to stop the Illegal crossing of the border... so pass legislation to CLOSE the holes.

Next... create a National STANDARD for identification (drivers licenses and Social Security Cards) so that they can NOT be issued to illegals, and are more difficult to forge. Make the forging, distribution, or sale of forged documents a felony.

Next... pass some legislation to make illegal the HIRING of illegal aliens (no matter their nationality). Use some of the funds from the fines to subsidize that fence !!

NEXT... determine what to do with those who are in violation of US Law by having entered the country illegally. SEVER their access to most tax-supported public services. (Also rethink our policy of admitting Cubans once THEY hit the beach)

NEXT... increase the funds WE are putting into our Education system... and HOLD teachers and administrators to standards. Smarter Americans will keep good jobs in our country.

NEXT... lean on the Mexican government and it's corruption. We've bailed them out TWICE... and gave them NAFTA.

NEXT... rethink our trading policy with China. Should we make many of the things they produce HERE and add jobs to our economy... or should we build those factories in Mexico and give the majority of illegals a reason to go HOME?

Ah... the rants could go on... but "We the People" can do it... vote!! Vote with the ballot box, vote with your letters and emails, vote with every purchase you make... or chose NOT to make.

If other countries like China or India are providing goods and services to American companies and cnsumers at lower proces with high end quality, why on earth the American companies would not do that.
And moreover they want to hire Americans for the jobs in US, but the reality is that they can't find enough qualifies people here.
So they have to bring qualified people from other countries.
If American companies are forced not to do that or advised on how to hire the people by the government, they would probably open another office in other country, hire people there, save money and bring the money back.
After all, al the money saved by American multi nationals earned in any part of the world comes back to America or put to such use to maximize the interests of the shareholdes of the comapny.
Well its a free globalized world. Can't help it unless you start acting like Hitler.

You are addressing one of the most perilous situations facing our country today. The export of our jobs overseas is quietly bring our country to its knees. Neither party is focused on this. As a matter of fact, the entrenched wealthy class, Republicans and Democrats, on Capital Hill have successfully turn our government into a plutocracy.

It's not the Democrats, it's the Republicans who aren't doing anything.

They at the moment control all branches of government. It's up to them to do something since they are the Majority Party.

The democrats are kind of in a hole here, with both houses of congress and a president being repuglican then it is hard for the democrats to get anything done that should be done.
