The Pope quoting a14th-century Byzantine emperor, Manuel II Paleologus, draws Islamic ire. The quote is: "Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached."

So what does the good Muslim do to show the world that Islam is not still a 5th century cult filled with murdering cowards?

Don't you love the pictures of the good Muslims holding their signs?

I know. Alot of us feel just like you do right now. We don't see any good sides of the Islam religion, if there are any. If there are any decent, peace loving Islamic people out there, it would be so important if they would stand up for their beliefs now and tell the world that they do not agree with the Muslims we see on the news these days. They should go one step further and stand up to their fellow Muslims and say NO, that's not what we're about. But unfortunately, we don't see that happening. I believe that the Islam religion IS intolerant of anyone who doesn't follow their religion, and the quiet Muslims are secretly happy that some of their fellow Muslims are declaring a holy war against us. It's unbelievable that they can even call it a "religion", since it appears to be so full of anger and hatred and intolerance.

What you have to remember is that muslims never were spreading the word by the sword.... islam has always taught peace and acceptance even though that is not what is portrayed in todays media... and to answer your question on what you can do to show this is to start a campaign in your community with local muslims and spread the word and help the community and show them that muslims are an integral part of western society.... keep with it though ... the community might not accept the group right away.... but this was the issue when the prophet walked by an old lady's house every day and she repeatedly threw garbage on him.... but when she was ill he went to her house and helped her..... this is an example of what a muslim shoud be like.... it may seem like a lot to start a group like this but if you do and you persist with it ... you will with Allah's blessing succeed in making islam an accepted religion. May Allah help and bless you and all muslims.

The thing that you have to understand about Islam, also known as "Fake Religion", is that nothing good has ever been spawned of it. Not that I give two sh*ts about the pope, catholics, or whatever else there is out there, but the one thing I do recognize is the fact that everything f**ked up in the world is amazingly Muslim related. I know that sounds dangerously close to a stereotype, but if the show fits, wear it, or burn it, whichever. The truth of the matter is that it doesnt matter, they always end up killing themselves anyway. What they don't realize is that nobody cares about them. I don't and neither does one of my good friends, appropriately he's a muslim kid named Sayeed. He doesnt give a sh-*t about Islam either. A man that used to be ONE OF THEM told me that he left because its nothing more than a bunch of opression and bulls**t. Thats good enough for me. Frankly, I'm not surprised that every place on the face of the Earth that is occupied by Muslims is a sh*thole.

On Sep. 11th, 2001 the muslims were dancing in the streets of Chicago in joy from what happened in New York. Police was protecting them from the rest of the people. And these are muslims that live in U.S.
I don't know what it is about islam that makes them fanatics and murderers, but there is definitely something there. So, the Pope was 100% correct.

People in the world need to chill.... sheesh. Instead of reading into the true messag of the text-- honest dialog and understanding -- people take offense.

And, I just love how instead of peacefully protesting, nut-jobs have to kill innocent clerics (the nun) or firebomb places of worship. The picture on the link shows people defaming Jesus- I haven't heard of any christians demanding an apology for that or firebombin Mosques.

I am just tired of all this.
It is hard anymore to follow the media.
I mean crap like that is on TV and in the Newspapers every day! They are a very unhappy bunch, aren't they?

I say we have to make fun of Islam.
We have to draw those caricatures.
We have to show sketches on SNL.
Come up with comic songs.

Let them get used to it!
Stop appeasing them every time they protest!

We make fun of Jesus all the time!
Moses, Buddha, all of them..
But not Mohamed! Oh no! He was too good, right? WRONG!

I strongly believe that if we start making fun, and laugh it will do better for them.

As I know muslims are very sensitive about their religion and about respecting Allah and Muhammad ,so I think the so called (good) Muslim should protest all the terrorist that say allah is great after killing or bombing because I think that is very disrespectful than the drawing about Prophet Mohammed that triggered worldwide protest

It was not very diplomatic of the pope to have made that comment....but why on earth does a poor nun who had nothing to do with this have to be killed....these people just showed their true color by reacting the way they did....they'll go to hell...god never preaches that we should kill...no religion preaches that....and no religion should fight in the name of god....its so not cool...know what i mean??.

I don't know whats wrong with them.

The pope was only reading what someone else wrote, it wasn't his own words.

I don't even like the pope myself, but I have enough brains to see that he wasn't saying anything bad. He was quoting what someone else said.
