Never heard that and I highly doubt it's true.

Snopes says this is a totally false rumor. The swiffer cleaning solution is 90-100% water and the rest is fairly safe stuff. The packaging even says you don't have to rinse it off the floor and it's safe for pets. There was a similar rumor about Febreze, so they think the rumors are being spread by someone who has a grudge against proctor & gamble. I have read they do testing on animals. Not sure if that is true or not, but that may be a reason for the rumors.

well i have been told this also in the past, and was told it was on the news when swiffer first came out... and in the beginning it may not have been safe for pets for all i know...
however the email is a spoof for sure and it is safe for kids and pets and might even say so on the label. It is considered an urban legend and is noted on several spoof sites if you were interested in having a look.
These are most scary because it could easily be reality... i too shared your concern.
Best of luck

No. Urban legend. Neither is Febreeze dangerous to pets. Seems some people are targeting P & G, also claiming it is run by Devil Worshippers & other such nonsense, too.

I was told at the pet store (very reliable shop) that it is not safe for dogs, birds or children. I wouldn't take the chance.

I have never heard of it, none of my pets have ever had a problem, but you can call your local animal shelter or friends of pets organization
