White T-Shirts, jeans, socks, and Adidas/Jordan slippers.....who started that fad, and whyis it so popular? I go to a small HBCU, and it seems 99.99% of the males here wear that....three years ago, nobody was wearing that....does anybody know who started it and why it caught on? I don't wear anything like that, and it's mad annoying to see all the black guys wearing the same exact thing...

That's so funny! Several weeks ago, my neighbor (who is black) was showing me a free gift he got when buying a pack of Newports. It was a plain white t-shirt, size 2 or 3 X, I believe. I'm like, OK...big deal. If you want some white t-shirts, go buy them! He told me that plain white (big) t-shirts are the black man's wardrobe. I thought this was really funny because my two kids (2 1/2 years old and 14 months old) LIVE in white t-shirts and diapers just about every day. (It's hot here [Georgia] and I generally only dress them if we're going out in public.) hee hee

I don't know who started this trend, but you know--I'd rather see someone wearing a white t-shirt and jeans than something offensive. I saw a guy the other day on the train wearing a t-shirt that was pretty funny. It was the Pillsbury Dough Boy, but he had one of those Grillz in his mouth. heh

When I was in college in the early 90's there was this trend where guys would wear long shirts and then wear their pants below their crotch line. Supposedly this was supposed to make you look taller from a distance. But to me it just looked like your pants were falling down... from a distance.

Not everyone follows it. The people that do have no taste, and need to be taught how to dress. It has to do with laziness. Why tie shoes when the slip on ones are so much easier. If you don't like it, don't wear it.

Black guys will copy just about anything once just one person starts it. Why don't you put a duck on your head for a week...and enjoy the new male duck fad.

Most fads are stupid. Don't worry though. The good news is that something else will come along and replace it. The bad news is that it too will be stupid.
