Normally when I recieve a number I wait at least week before I call them. Is a week to long of a wait? Also sometimes she ends up calling me that day if we both give each other our numbers. Does that mean that she is desperate?

Yes a week is too long, I would go for two or three days. If she calls you the same day she might be desperate. I would never call the guy first, I think thats their job.

A week seems a little long like you're trying too hard to play cool. If you are into someone, I think a decent number of days to wait is like 3.
I've been a culprit of calling that same day. Guess it could seem desperate. Maybe because girls sometimes think differently about boys on this issue. As a girl, I'd want to give you a clear sign that I am interested and calling that day would be a clear sign.

A week is a little long, but if its been working for you - Go for it.
If she calls you sooner than that, it doesn't necessarily mean that she's desperate, it could very well mean that she just really thinks your cute, likes your vibe or both and just really wants to get to know you!
Her conversation lets you know if shes desparate, not how soon she calls after you have given her your number, and if it concerns you that much Don't give out your number, Just take numbers and do all the calling yourself.
That way you can weed out the desperates ones without having them call you unwantedly.

no it is not been desperate some women just don't like to play the dating games. The amount of time you have to wait to call a person is 3 days exactly the hour minutes you meet the person, that is the dating rule, it also depends on how much you liker or for what you like her. you see your self with her 3 or more days, for one night stand 3 days and under. it is rules you follow. Me and my girl where very good at these rules then we meet each other we stop playing them from the moment we meet. It is something real now and we have been together for 4year.

I like to be original, call her on the way home from where you got her number, even if it's 10 minutes later... Just tell her "I'm sorry, I couldn't wait. What are you doing (Insert 3 days later here, ie: if it's Monday say "what are you doing Thursday"). Then, don't call her again until a few hours before you are supposed to meet on Thursday, just to confirm. If she flakes, don't ever call her again and erase her phone number. She's had 3 days to plan this thing out, there is no excuse. I don't care if she says her mother died... NEXT!

It could mean she was just really into you,just because she calls you right away doesn't mean she's desperate. And it depends on how you feel about the girl you got the number from if you really liked her call her sooner than a week-most girls will be impressed if she's just so-so to ya wait the week.

I'd say 3 to 4 days. A week is too long. By then, I'd have forgotten who you are. I would never call a guy first. I don't think the girl/woman should chase. If a guy were to call me on the same day, that would turn me off.

Definitely too long if you like the girl. Not nice to keep her waiting. Even if you don't go out with her right away it's considerate to call 2 or 3 days afterwards.

yes a week is about 5 or 6 days to long to call back ..you should of called the next day or the day after

I say wait 2 days to call her.
If she called you that same day it doesn't always mean that the girls desperate. Maybe she thought you were a nice guy and she enjoyed talking to you and wanted to talk some more.
