With the amount of new home contruction in the Southeast, I can't imagine it would be difficult for a carpenter to find work. If it were me, I would start by doing a local search on Google.com for the city in which you wish to relocate for construction companies. There are many, many construction companies out there. I would call and ask for information on employment opportunities. They will point you in direction of their hiring managers and/or subcontractors.

Good luck to you!

If you just show up in New Orleans or the Mississippi coast, people will salivate at the sight of you. There is a worker shortage in construction right now and they are paying higher than normal wages.

The specifics I do not know, I just know they need people.
So, if you are interested in that part of the country...
