My girlfriend will be off work for 6 weeks. Without her income I will have no movie money, etc. I need a part time job. I would also like to loose 20 pounds
I make 65k a year as an engineer. I need a mindless job that I can do for a few hours a night (say 20 hours a week) for about 30 days. Say November 24 to December 24.
Keep in mind that I am taxed based on both salaries combined. I must make at least $8/hour to break even.
My day job is sitting in a chair. I need a job that is mindless and performed while standing.

Be a postman. They are heavily in demand at Christmas, you can do it part time, and it involves moving around.

Retail sales is your answer!
Check local Mom and Pop galleries and gift shops or check in the mall. All of these places will keep you on your feet.
A chain may be best for you if you are looking for mindless...you can spend your time re-folding and stocking shelves.
A Mom and Pop will be less mindless and require you to provide more attention to the customers.
In the land of retail Christmas is here already so start applying now.
Good luck.

Many stores hire for just holiday help, and you would be standing the whole time. The only other thing I can think of is being one of Santa's helper at malls where kids go to sit on Santa's lap. Or wait...you could work at a Christmas tree lot, that would be really physical.

You could work as the photographer - taking pictures of the kids on santa's lap. They make about $8.00-$9.00 dollars an hour. There will definitely be lots of standing and moving around.

Be Santa Claus at the nearest mall and make some children smile. Do it before you lose the weight...

see if you can work at a gym. maybe they need someone to do laundry or some cleaning and on breaks you could work out. probably too good to be true but it would be the ideal situation.
