I have never been a foster parent, so I don't know their rules and regulations on that. It probably varies from state to state anyway. Can you financially provide for them without a husband? It might make a difference. You will probably just have to call and ask the state agency.

Times have changed, there are many, many single foster parents now. If you have a bond with the children, they are well cared for, and they are doing well, chances are excellent that you will be able to keep them. The system is simply too overloaded with children in need to do otherwise. The best approach is to tell your Social Worker before they find out another way. Be upfront and honest with him or her. The Social Worker is not your adversary, but rather your children's' friend. Both you and the social worker want what's best for the children, so you're working together as a team.

if you can prove that you can give them a stable home, there doesn't have to be 2 parents in the home. there are alot of single moms out there, I'm one of them, I don't think that would be any different honestly. Good luck to you. sorry about your husband moving out.
