what do yinz think of when i say that the ncaa should have a play-off and a championship game between the 4 divisions (1-a, 1-aa, 2, 3) the games would be 1-a vs 3 and 1-aa vs 2 and the winners would be in the championship game?

I think that in division 1 there should be a simple 4 team playoff after all the conference games are played. A final poll should determine the top 4 teams to be played in a bowl game format with 1 playing 4 and 2 playing 3 with the winners meeting a week later in the National Championship game. Here is an example"

1. Ohio State vs 4. West Virginia
Orange Bowl
2. Auburn vs 3 Southern Cal
Rose Bowl National Championship game
Cotton Bowl winner vs Orange Bowl winner

I like it, but the only problem is that the season would go well into Feb. I don't like to leave it up to some computer.
