Elle brought him the money for the Hattori Hanzo sword. The money was in a case. He opened the case and started taking some money, and a snake Elle had hid inside attacked him. The snake, a Black Mamba( very nice suggestion) bit him on the face and due to its amazingly lethal venom, Budd suffered a really painful and nasty death. What he deserved, in my opinion.
Kill Bill vol 1 and 2 are awesome works of art. 2 of the coolest movies...

Kiddo didn't kill him. Elle killed him by hiding a black mamba amongst his million dollars (payment for Kiddo's hanzo sword he stole).
She watches him die painfully via 'gargantuan amounts' of venom the snake injected into parts of his face.
