You have two options: the cold method and the hot method.

Cold method-use an ice cube to get it firmly set up and then pull it out of you carpeting.

Hot method-put an old towel down over the spill and iron the spot. The was will be absorbed into the towel. This one is trickier because you could melt it into the fibers of the carpet and then have a real mess.

I would try the cold one first and get as much up as possible and if you still have a problem try the iron.

Use an old cloth towel that you will throw away when finished. If you don't have an old towel, paper towels can be used.
Take the towel and put it over the wax. You will need a regular iron like you would use to iron clothes. Let the iron heat up on high. Put the iron on top of the towel. The towel will absorb the wax. Move the towel to another area and repeat the procedure till all the wax is absorbed into the towel. Then you will have to throw the towel away. I work at a Catholic Church and we have allot of candle wax in the carpets. This is the procedure we use. Good Luck!

Hi -

The iron method is best, but I prefer to use cloth towels instead of the paper. The fibers in the cloth are better for pulling out the wax. Also, melt off as much as you can, then let it dry and take a sharp knife and slice it cross-ways, taking care, obviously, not to cut the carpet, but at least this degrades the wax even more. It takes a few tries with chipping away, then ironing.

Use a linen (thin) dish towel and place it over wax. Put a piece of wax paper on top of the towel and fold some of the towel over the wax paper. Iron over the top of the wax paper. The wax paper and folded over towel will keep the wax from getting too hot and causing a burn. The wax will soak up into the towel. Use an old one if you don't want to ruin it. I used to work in a candle store and this is what we always recommended. Good Luck!

1. Get some ice. Freeze the water in the basic shape of the stain, and lay it on the wax
2. Get a can of barbeque lighter fluid.
.
Use ice to freeze the wax, then crack it off the fibers.
Works excellently with gum as well.

Afterward (Key:after this step) use a carpet extractor, if needed, but this is unnecessary.

If there still is discoloration...
Use lighter fluid for the barbeque and put it on a rag. Rub the rag (white rag!) over the area and whatever residue was left will completely dissolve. (Can be used without the step of ice with glue).

Have no fear. Do this right and no one will know.

Hope the candlelight dinner last night was enjoyable.

Scrape up as much of the wax as you can. If you put an ice cube on it, it makes it easier to scrape it up. After you get as much as you can off the carpet, put some paper towels on top of the wax and set an iron on top of this set on either medium or high, don't melt or burn you carpet. Keep soaking up the wax that melts with fresh paper towels.
Good luck.

Put a paper bag over it (the kind you get from the grocery store). Heat your iron and iron on the trash bag where the candle spill is. The wax will absorb to the heat and to the bag. If it is a large area, you will have to repeat on a clean area of the bag again. This really works! Good luck!

nicely i will't use ice cube on the carpet reason won't paintings in any respect. different concern i wouldnt use water wont paintings the two reason it's going to make the carpet get moist and keep the wax from the candle too sticken. so i could attempt to se youre very own arms to tug it off or if doesnt paintings then i could use sissors to cut back it little bit to take off the dried wax from the carpet. no longer alot merely the area you notice merely throw it away. merely bypass back to the carpet to work out if there something lacking if no longer then whilst she comes homestead after her holiday she wont even releazie there wasnt something on the carpet in any respect.
