The kind of soap doesn't matter as long as you don't have sensitivities to certain kinds. Some poor gals can't use stronger soaps on that tender part of them. Cleaning everything gently with a washcloth and rinsing it off well should do the trick.

Just rinse surface with soap...prefer bar soap...jus dont stick your fingers in to wash..not healthy..known to introduce bacteria

You can RINSE the outside of your vagina with vinegar/water solution if having irritation, but NEVER douche. Douching is terrible for you. Always wipe from front to back.

front to back~ yes. in the shower use bar soap, lather, get in there!!, rinse. Do the same for your butt.
