Did you eat late? What were you eating? Acid reflux is a condition that is often triggered by late night eating/overeating, where acid moves back up the esophagus, giving you a burning/choking feeling. As well as being related to eating, it can occur because you have a hiatal hernia at the entry to the stomach.
