When sick your immune system is low and vulnerable. I was wondering if working out while mildly sick is bad for you?? Does it increase your chances of getting more sick??

Your resistance will get even lower. Ive done this past many times while sick. Its best to just rest up. While it may seem like your "fallin off the wagon" by missing workouts it just aint worth even chancing missing more workout in the future by working out when sick. When your 100% youll hit the gym and muscle has memory so you will just bounce right back !!!

As a former weightlifter I used to do this sometimes, I wouldn't reccommend it. When you weighlift or workout you are compromising your body because for one it is sapping energy and two you are breaking down muscles. In fact I would sometimes get sick from working out too hardcore. I think you could definitely feel more sick, but I don't know if you are more succeptible to sickness from it.

I read somewhere that if the symptoms are mainly in the head (head ache, sore throat, stuffiness, etc) than it's OK to work out, although probably not as vigorously as you normally would.
If your symptoms also involve nausea or vomiting, body aches, fever, etc, then it would be best just to rest for a few days.
You can always call your doctor to check to see if it's OK to continue to exercise.
Hope this helps!

i am not a doctor, but i workout when i am mildly sick and usually feel better afterwards, "sweating it out". but if you've already made up your mind that its bad, well, then don't.

make sure to wash your hands after though, there's alot of germs in the gym.

dude let it totally recover, REST...you can work out another time. when your car is broke you dont run it into the ground do you? no you go get it fixed. just wait. how can you build muscle if your body is too concearned with overcoming a virus? treat your body like a temple not a workhorse.
