Let's put aside the many technological discoveries that science has given us. The primary importance in studying science is that science gives us a way to ask, analyze and study questions. The scientific method always for the dispassionate study of our world. It allows us perspective and takes us beyond personal experience to a more accurate interpretation of what is happening around us. The discipline of the scientific method gives us an opportunity to get closer to the truth. The scientific method and healthy skepticism are essential tools for those seeking truth.

Science is the mother of all studies.

Why do we have math to calculate all sorts of strange things?
People asked, "Is there a pattern here?" And studied it. That's science.

Why is there history?
Because people attempting to understand each-other and the world wrote history down. (That's science)

Why is there literature, all of these great works?
Because the author asked a question. (That's science)

Why is there art?
People found things in their natural enviroment and used them to express themselves. (That's science)

Why are there computers?
Somebody asked, "Would this work?" and it did. That's science.

Why is there music?
Because the composer was enthralled by the world around them. That's science.

Without science, we would never gain any understanding about our universe. We would not build on the knowledge of previous generations. And that is why we are here, to be curious and pursue answers.

I conclude, if there was not science, there would be no point to human existance.

-Please, don't just turn this in. Have it inspire you to write something of your own.

The importance of science in modern society

Increasing levels of CO2 in the atmosphere caused by the steady decline of tropical rain forests and the steady rise in industrial pollution has created world-wide concern over the future of the planet Earth.

A space station is in the process of being built to be used to study the Earth, stars and man in space...and boiling a kettle of water.

What do these three things have in common? They are all directly linked to the wonderful thing called science.
