I don't know where all to look, well I doooo but the web is a big place and YOU are already there.

Here are some thoughts for questions you may ask.

What is Cooper's Town?
What rivers flow through the Valley of the Sun?
Where does Stevie Nicks live?
Who are the streets of Downtown Phoenix named for?
What is the prominent group in the population of Phoenix? That just changed.
What is the fastest growing county in the country?
Why do they call them jumping cactus?
Who is the biggest Employer in the Valley of the Sun?
How many lakes are in the valley?
How many golf courses?
How many miles of highway?
What is the average commute?
Who is the Mayor of Phoenix?

I didn't provide answers for these but it would be an interesting scavenger hunt on its on.

I hope I was on the right track anyway.

During WWII there was a POW camp for German prisoners located at or near what is now Papago Park in Phoenix. A group of these prisoners escaped and fashioned some canoes to go down the Salt River, which showed as a thick blue line on a map they had somehow gotten a hold of while in the camp. They thought the river would take them to Mexico.

Save for heavy rains, the Salt river and GIla river are normally just dry beds, and this is exactly what the escapees found when they reached the area where the river should have been...

Hi,

Boy, do I have an interesting fact for you!

Have you heard of The Phoenix Light Phenomenon?
I'm sure you have at some point. It was the most highly video taped and widely reported UFO experience. Even CNN had footage of the incident which lasted the whole evening of March 13th, 1997!

In 2000 I came across this website called:

http://www.lightsoverphoenix.com/

On this site they talk about what they believe to be the real cause of the lights. They have several witnesses who had more of an "experience" than the some of the hundreds of people who only saw lights. These people had an "encounter". The sight does not point to Aliens, but rather the bible for the answers. They claim to be working on a re-enactment of the events of the evening before they tell ALL, but it is very, very interesting!

Have a look for yourself. This is not just some weird UFO website.

I learned on Yahoo that Ajo means garlic in Spanish. We have a town called Ajo in AZ. Why they'd want to be garlic, I have no idea.

Hmm, trivia...http://phoenix.gov/DISCOVER/FACTS/index.html#P-5_0 This is the City of Phoenix web site. On the left side of the screen you will see Phoenix Facts and can learn history, stats, etc.
