Black smoke is fuel....probably the MAF sensor. White smoke is water (coolant)...not good, probably blown head gasket or cracked head. Blue smoke is oil....not good either, bad rings or valve seals. If blue smoke, you might help it by putting in 1/2 quart of tranny fluid to the engine oil to swell up the seals. Can't help without more info. Good luck.

you are burning oil is the most likely cause of smoke....and this could be because your rings are shot....or it could be more major take it in and check it out if you care that is if you don't just make sure you have plenty of oil and keep on truckin until she won't anymore you can drive around burnin oil for a LONG time if you just make sure you keep an eye on the level i mean its BAD for the car its a sign something is wrong so i would get it checked out so you know for sure.

if its pitch black your running rich on fuel if its white your running lean, if its blueish your burning oil and thats a bad thing either way take it to the shop and have them hook the computer up to it. even though your car is japanese it's 11 yrs old and now its going to nickle and dime you to death i would thing of trading it in for a newer car if not brand new. one cool thing about jap cars is they run forever,
