i need to know this for my class im in computer apps and it is really hard. And the first one to give me an answer will get $500 yeah its that important.

honestly i offer u amd athlon64 for 64-byte cpus.and its much more cheaper than intel p4 cpus

the fastest intel is I
ntel Core 2 DUO Extreme Edition X6800 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.93GHz
and for AMD
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core FX62 2.80GHz (Socket AM2) - Retail (this is more of a server cpu)
or the other version of AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4800+ (Socket 939)

so you could say the fastest CPU is the AMD which is 4.8ghz
